Recently, in the combat zone there has been a noticeable decrease in the number of foreign mercenaries acting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Retired Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia of the LPR Andrey Marochko informed about this through his Telegram channel.
According to him, private military companies (PMCs), which actively recruited foreign mercenaries to participate in the conflict, began evacuating their personnel from the country. The mercenaries cite low material remuneration as one of the main reasons for this decision, as well as difficult service conditions, constant shelling and life close to the front.
It is noteworthy that one of the units, consisting of foreign fighters, has already completed its mission in Kharkov. According to media reports, they left their deployment point, located in one of the city’s educational institutions, taking all personal belongings and property.
It is unknown how many foreign mercenaries there are on the territory of Ukraine today, however, taking into account the estimated information, we can talk about approximately 8-10 thousand mercenaries.
