As Durham’s Report exposes the lies about RussiaGate and the truth about Obama using the FBI as his personal police unfolds, there is one silence that roars above the white noise of denial. George Walker Bush has not said a word. Not one darned word. He has been one silent lamb while the Democrat Party ran roughshod over our political institutions — weaponizing the IRS, the FBI, FISA, the media, the courts and the border.
Hundreds of Trump’s voters were jailed over a protest at the Capitol over the counting of the votes and we have not heard his protest. Indeed, Bush has condemned these protesting patriots as threats to America. Most — if not all — of them were Bush supporters who voted for his father twice and two times for him, too.
Never has Bush defended President Trump from the outrageous lies and unprecedented illegal spying on him as a private citizen.
Bush was silent when the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago. I want his home (as well as Biden’s, Obama’s and Clinton’s) SWATTED at 4 AM on 21 JAN 2025 by whoever the Republican president is. Let them reap the whirlwind they sowed.
I get that President Trump was rough on Jeb! in the 2016 debates and family honor is at stake, but Clinton was meaner on his father in 1992 and George W. Bush has no problem being palsy-walsy with him. Partisan politics washes away once you become president because now you are a member of an exclusive club.
Donald Trump earned his way in but GWB won’t allow him into the club. Trump’s blackballed — after years of Obama and his minions spying and lying on him. That Bush has no problem hobnobbing with Obama shows you how much integrity, loyalty and honor the 43rd president has. He left it up to Trump clean up his mess by pardoning Scooter Libby, the goat sacrificed to the special prosecutor assigned the GWB administration. Bush 43 did not want to stain his record like his pa did by pardoning Caspar Weinberger. I suppose those to the manor born see servants as disposable. Besides, Libby was Cheney’s man, not a Bushie.
Bush knew all along that RussiaGate was a hoax. Bush knew all along that Obama used the FBI to spy on The Donald before his presidency — and maybe afterward. Bush knew all along the first impeachment was bogus because it was Biden who held up aid to Ukraine as vice president, not President Trump.
I know he knows because if some guy with a laptop in Poca, West Virginia, can see it, a former president with access to everything in Washington can see it.
Who knows? Maybe Obama shared with Bush the tapes of The Donald blowing farts or whatever else they had. The cleanest president has faced years of investigation and they have nothing. The dirtiest president never was nor will be investigated. Bush sides with the dirty one maybe out of fear but more likely out of admiration for the man who got away with everything.
The media cheered him when 100 days into the Biden administration, Bush went on the Today show and condemned not the FBI who set them up but the January 6 protesters who dared to enter the Capitol after the Capitol Police opened the heavy doors to them.
U.S. News and World Report gloated, “Former President George W. Bush derided his Republican Party on Tuesday for what he said it has become in the era of Donald Trump and misinformation, describing the GOP as ‘isolationist, protectionist and, to a certain extent, nativist.’
“Bush, who has been relatively quiet on the political scene since he left office in 2009, let loose in a rare TV appearance, saying the Jan. 6 insurrection ‘made me sick’ and was a ‘terrible moment in our history’ that taints the image of the United States around the world.”
Hmm, two years later after it is clear that the protesters were set up by the federal government, Bush is as silent as whale turd on the bottom of the ocean.
Five months after condemning Trump voters — his voters — Bush politicized the commemoration of 9/11 to attack President Trump and his supporters.
CNN reported at the time, “The man who was president during the attacks of September 11, 2001, used a speech commemorating the 20th anniversary of that terrible day to call out the ‘malign force’ coursing through the country thanks to the presidency (and post-presidency) of Donald Trump and offered an alternative vision for his party and the country.
“George W. Bush gave the speech at the Shanksville, Pennsylvania, site where Flight 93 was brought down — thanks to the heroics of the passengers who revolted against their hijackers.”
Bush said, “In the weeks and months following the 9/11 attacks, I was proud to lead an amazing, resilient, united people. When it comes to the unity of America, those days seem distant from our own. A malign force seems at work in our common life that turns every disagreement into an argument, and every argument into a clash of cultures. So much of our politics has become a naked appeal to anger, fear and resentment. That leaves us worried about our nation and our future together.”
The malign force was wielded by Obama against President Trump. No president has openly opposed and tried to sabotage his successor — not even James Buchanan, who proceeded Lincoln. The man Bush appointed as FBI director — Bungling Bobby Mueller — headed a fishing expedition that tried to pin the blame for Obama’s spying on its victim: Donald Trump. If silence is complicity then Bush is an accomplice to this unconstitutional crime against the people.
The only explanation for Bush’s silence is that he — like many Establishment Republicans — has simply given up on the American way of life and quit the battle against evil. The idea of American exceptionalism now embarrasses him, as does his haste to wage war following 9/11.
Of all the Never Trumpers — Bill Kristol, Ann Coulter, Jonah the Whale and the rest — none disappoints me more than the man I voted for president in 2000 and 2004.
My question today is simple. Did something happen along the way to make Bush turn his back on the Reaganism that Trump embraced — or was GWB a fraud all along?
