Not me myself, but it was in the news several years back.
Shortly after 9/11, TSA was full on A-hole. There was an old WW2 Vet that was going to give a speech at West Point Academy. You know, the US Army Academy?
He was stopped and held by TSA in Phoenix, AZ while going thru security for bringing in his carry on, wait for it…..wait…..his Congressional Medal of Honor. That’s right, a Congressional Medal of Honor. They claimed he could have put it between his fingers and used it as a weapon.
His Congressional. Medal. Of Honor.
They actually accused this senior citizen, who had received the highest award available to the US military of being a terrorist because he could have used his Congressional Medal of Honor as a weapon to highjack a flight.
The shear idiocy of this is staggering. He refused to give it up (they actually wanted to confiscate it!). It took hours and several levels of supervisors all, actually supporting their TSA agent, before they allowed him to let someone come to the airport to take it back home, because there was no way they were letting him bring that weapon on board the plane.
Brothers and sisters breeding together happens more often than I thought! (Yes, I am calling them inbreeders!)
