THANX, DS~ Readers should take these a few at a time for the next coupla’ days.
Once you take a look at his collage of weird news articles, I think you will agree that there is not much one can add to them. It’s all pretty much there. The divide between the Dems and Reps is now the same as the divide between Americans and anti-Americans. Anyone undecided at this point on how to vote is with the enemy. The battle lines are drawn; but the only problem is, one can’t recognize the enemy just be looking at him. At least Isaiah the prophet had the advantage of knowing, “Their own countenance condemns them”.

New York Times Confirms the ‘Great Replacement’ is No Conspiracy Theory in Anti-Trump Op/ed
BigLeaguePolitics.com – 10/19/20
Left-wing thought control groups like the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) have propagandized that the “great replacement” theory, positing that globalists are replacing American workers is a racist conspiracy theory supported only by white nationalists, white supremacists, and other official bad guys.
However, the New York Times admitted in a recent op/ed that the “great replacement” theory is real, and the only reason any one would oppose the plan is because they are an evil racist. Columnist Roger Cohen said that President Donald Trump must be defeated for multicultural America to truly take shape.
“The great replacement” is a phrase generally attributed to a French writer, Renaud Camus, who said: “The great replacement is very simple. You have one people, and in the space of a generation, you have a different people.” That, of course, is a good definition of America,” Cohen wrote.
Of course, this was never the historic definition of America. This only became America after millions of third-world migrants were imported into America due to changes in public policy. Now that the Left feels like they have won, they can admit what they have been doing this entire time to undermine the civilization.
There must be something wrong with any American who does not want a fundamental transformation of their country with foreigners taking all their jobs and all the political power, Cohen argues. . . .
Trump “wants to freeze a white America. Some strange blend of Norman Rockwell and Mad Men, in an imaginary United States strutting across a world pliant to its will. Behind “America first” lurks a very un-American credo,” he wrote.
“Change can be frightening, which is what the great replacement conspiracy theory hinges on. Camus warns grotesquely of a “genocide by substitution,” the replacement of a white French and European order by Muslim migrants in a plot orchestrated by cosmopolitan elites,” Cohen added.
Cohen has the chutzpah to act like Camus’ notion is ridiculous, even as Frenchmen are beheaded for showing cartoons by Islamic terrorists in a nation that is increasingly becoming unrecognizable.
Cohen argues that any Westerner who does not want to see their nation raped is the equivalent of, you guessed it, Hitler and the Nazis. “In Trump’s case, read a white American order replaced by brown Mexican rapists and Black pillagers,” he wrote. “France is worried about Muslims from North Africa. Germans were once so worried about Jews replacing them that they killed six million of them. In a world of mass migration, fear rages: Some idea of the nation will be diluted or lost!”
“America is particularly susceptible to fear today because the world has changed in unsettling ways. Power has migrated eastward to Asia. America’s recent wars have been unwon. By midcentury, non-Hispanic whites will constitute less than 50 percent of the population,” Cohen added.
Americans are already enjoying the fruits of their new multicultural society, which is really taking shape with the violent anti-white pogroms staged by the marxist Black Lives Matter terror group.
Journalist Michael Tracey has traveled through various Somali-style hellscapes across the state that BLM has left in their wake, showing first hand the beauty and vibrancy that diversity brings to civilization: “Left-wing intellectuals have supported the Great Replacement for decades, while lying to the public about the true agenda the entire time. The death of the West has been their plan, and they will support its destruction.”
‘The city will be on fire’: New Yorkers reportedly prepare to flee homes to avoid election-related unrest
Daily Caller News Foundation October 19, 2020
New Yorkers are purportedly making plans to escape the city ahead of potential Election Day violence and protests, according to the New York Post.
Paulo Wei, 25, is planning on avoiding unrest by leaving his luxury building on the Upper West Side for his family’s 60-acre farm two hours north of the city, the Post reported Saturday. “I felt trapped in the apartment — the protests were overwhelming,” Wei said. “It could happen again and I don’t want to be caught up in that. No matter who wins, someone is going to get upset.”
Andrea, 31, a Republican and public relations specialist of New York City’s Flatiron district, said she will leave for Tulum, Mexico, prior to Nov. 3. Her trip will span from Oct. 25 through Nov. 8. “I went to my parents in New Jersey for about two weeks when the BLM protests got bad and the looting started. So I definitely want to get out of here the week of the election,” Andrea said. “I’m thinking if Trump wins, it’s going to be a disaster — the city will be on fire. People are going to go nuts,” Andrea added.
Ooana Trien, 42, of Hell’s Kitchen has been at her family home in Fire Island, N.Y., since July. Trien, a supporter of President Donald Trump, plans to mail in her ballot and welcome friends looking for an escape into her home. Her mother believes that regardless of the election results, protesters will attempt to burn down Trump Tower in New York City. “I told my friends that whoever wanted to get out of the city was welcome here. One friend who lives in Washington Heights is going to vote in the morning [on Nov. 3] and come straight up to the beach,” Trien said.
A leaked NYPD memo said officials are expecting protests to start as early as Oct. 25, and to continue into next year. The memo reportedly said officers should “be prepared for deployment,” the Post reported. “This November 3rd will be one of the most highly contested presidential elections in the modern era. There is also a strong likelihood that the winner of the presidential election may not be decided for several weeks,” the memo said.
Bill Maher Baffled That Portland Mayor Behind Avowed Antifa Supporter By 11 Points
Kristi Turnquist, Oregonian (Portland, OR) | Oct 19, 2020
The HBO series, “Real Time With Bill Maher” typically features the host, Bill Maher, making jokes and having conversations about topical issues, with a heavy emphasis on politics. Though Maher frequently takes a liberal view, he also has a habit of criticizing what he sees as behavior that is overly politically correct.
In that vein, Maher took aim at recent protest activity in Portland on the Friday, Oct. 16, episode of his HBO show. During a socially distanced discussion with his guests, CNN senior political analyst John Avlon and associate editor of Commentary Magazine Noah Rothman, Maher brought up the Oct. 11 event in Portland, during which a group of demonstrators tore down a statue of Abraham Lincoln, in addition to engaging in other acts of destruction. The protest was promoted on social media as “Indigenous Peoples Day of Rage,” and was declared a riot by Portland Police, who made arrests.
Seemingly baffled by the toppling of Lincoln’s statue, Maher said, “I’ve got to give a shout-out to Fred Armisen. When he did ‘Portlandia,’ he got it right.” Maher went on to say that he always loved performing in Portland, “but I guess I missed a lot of what’s going on in Portland. The mayor there, Ted Wheeler, is about to lose to someone who’s proudly antifa.”
Maher was referring to the race between incumbent mayor Ted Wheeler and challenger Sarah Iannarone, which, according to one poll, showed Iannarone, who has declared herself an “everyday anti-fascist,” leading Wheeler by 11 points. A more recent poll shows Wheeler and Iannarone in a closer race, though many voters reported they were undecided.
After Maher called Lincoln “pretty woke for his day,” Avlon added, “If you can’t figure out the difference between tearing down a statue of a Confederate general and Lincoln, you should probably sit that one out.” Such activity, Avlon added, is equivalent to making “a campaign ad for Donald Trump.”
Maher also mentioned FBI director Christopher Wray’s comments to lawmakers, in which, as the Associated Press reported, Wray warned of the dangers of “violence by white supremacists as well as anti-government extremists.”
What Wray was saying, Maher suggested, is “white supremacists are still the biggest problem, but now we’ve got this other group, the anarchists.” Maher then went on to refer to an article in the New York Times, “which is usually pretty sympathetic to the Portland left,” Maher said, that reported on protests moving into residential neighborhoods, and where demonstrators with bullhorns shout for people to come out of their houses to show support for the protest, saying that not participating “is to show tacit support for racism.”
“I’m not down with that,” Maher said. “When I’m home, I’m home. Sorry.”
Maher said the New York Times article also said that Portland protests are “increasingly dominated by white people,” and then cited a report that showed Black people are more moderate in their views than liberal Democrats.
The “Real Time” segment prompted some sharp responses on social media, from people with differing viewpoints. Here’s a sample: Another Twitter user wrote: “You lost me when you mocked Portland for the Lincoln statue by trying to tie the act to the confederacy. Not saying I agree with the act, but Lincoln was no friend to the indigenous. It was Columbus Day. There was a valid point to that topple. Have you Boomered out? #disappointed”
Where Biden Stands On Gender Transition For Young Children
GOPUSA.com – Jeff Crouere | Oct 19, 2020 | Commentary | 20
At a town hall forum televised on ABC this week, former Vice President Joe Biden offered his support for eight-year-old children to undergo gender transition. Responding to a question from a mother of a transgender child, Biden said, “The idea that an eight year-old child or a ten year-old child decides, ‘you know I decided, I want to be transgender, that’s what I think I’d like to be, it’d make my life a lot easier.’ There should be zero discrimination.”
No American of any sexual orientation should face discrimination, but the position that an eight-year-old child should undergo gender transition is very controversial. An adult should be free to make any decision regarding their [sic] sexuality, but children need to be protected. In the view of Peter Sprigg, Senior Fellow for Policy Studies at Family Research Council Action, “The implementation of invasive physiological gender transition procedures—puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and/or gender reassignment surgery—upon minors raises grave concerns.”
Biden also said he would “eliminate” the Trump administration’s executive orders on transgender issues. The most controversial decision involved banning gender transition in the military. Other orders rescinded several Obama era rules, such as forcing doctors to perform gender transition despite their objections or requiring single sex homeless shelters to admit people based on their preferred gender instead of their biological sex. According to Biden, “I will flat out change the law.”
If Biden is elected, those who believe in the essential differences between men and women will have limited to no influence on his administration. Across all the social issues, a President Biden will pursue a very progressive agenda.
Understandably, millions of Americans who support traditional values are worried and depressed. They see riots, a breakdown of law and order, and a general weakening of the value system that built America.
It is true that we have undergone a terrible period over the last few months; however, there is still a way for traditional values to make a strong comeback. Of course, the first requirement is for President Trump to be reelected. This is crucial for if Biden becomes president, the left will gain a tremendous amount of brand-new power. In fact, they will become so powerful that they might be able to destroy traditional America completely and prevent any sort of revival.
Biden and his liberal allies will pack the Supreme Court with more progressive justices in the mold of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. They will add Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. as new states to guarantee four new democratic U.S. Senators. They will turn the economy in a more socialist direction and shift more and more power away from the people and toward the government.
Traditional America might not be able to recover from these blows, so it is imperative that President Trump win re-election. If that can be accomplished, and the U.S. Senate stays in Republican control and the GOP also gains some seats in the House, there will be a formidable political base to fight the left, which is powerfully embedded in government, the media and in special interest groups.
A Trump victory will give Republicans additional time to watch as the old Democratic party eventually implodes. In short order, the Democratic Party will be taken over, totally and completely, by the ultra-radical left. Younger super progressive Democrats like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY), Stacey Abrams and Beto O’Rourke will assume full control. They will create a socialist Democratic Party, which will be a tremendous boost to the Republicans.
As the new far-left Democratic Party is revealed, millions of voters will be appalled and flock to the GOP. Their new party will be too radical for most American voters, who tend to be conservative or moderate. Our country is center-right, not filled with socialists who want to abandon their gasoline-powered vehicles.
This socialist agenda, including the end of fossil fuels, gun control and other radical policies will become the actual face of the new Democratic Party. The old mask will be removed. The current Democratic Party, which successfully pretends that it is centrist or only slightly liberal, will be gone. The American people will then be able to clearly see the new Democratic party for the first time. Finally, voters will be able to understand that the Democratic Party hates traditional America.
These ultra-left Democrats hate the Founding Fathers, the Bible, and the Second Amendment. They also hate free markets, free speech, Western Civilization and everyone who represents it. These are all the reasons why they hate President Trump so much. To them, he represents traditional America. He is a white alpha male who is heterosexual and confident. President Trump supports free markets, free speech, and limited government. He is opposed to identity politics, and, unlike so many previous Republican politicians, he fights back.
President Trump represents everything the far left detests and wants to destroy. While millions of Americans already understand this situation, there are still too many people who are unclear about this political battle.
Fortunately, they will soon understand the truth. Once they realize the stakes involved, the GOP will gain millions of new allies and large amounts of political power. We can use that power to protect traditional values from attack and start our long-overdue counter-offensive. We can fight back, regain our culture and win, but it all starts with the re-election of President Donald Trump.

Trump supporter waving American flag in Colorado attacked by man with shovel
KRDO TV ^ | October 1, 2020 5:59 pm | By Dan Beedie
A political dispute turned violent on Pueblo’s south side when a supporter of President Donald Trump was allegedly attacked by a masked man.
The masked man, identified by Pueblo Police as Gabriel Perez, 32, can be seen on video getting into an altercation with a Trump supporter who was waving an American flag at the corner of Northern Ave. and Pueblo Boulevard on Friday.
The man who was waving the flag, Fred Haddock, was also wearing a body camera, and video captured the moment when he heard a bang from across the street. Haddock says Perez was bashing in the windows of his truck with a shovel.
Haddock crosses the street to confront the individual, and that’s when the violence escalates. Throughout the profanity-laced video, Perez can be seen trying to grab the American Flag out of Haddock’s hands. Haddock said the altercation only got worse from there. “He tried to stab me with that shovel,” said Haddock. “That’s when I hit him with that pepper spray to just knock him down. He’s lucky I didn’t kill him.”
Haddock says he was legally armed with a firearm during the altercation, but decided to use pepper spray instead. “He saw the pepper spray and he still attacked me,” said Haddock. “I don’t know if he’s on drugs or off his rocker or something.”
Pueblo Police were called to the scene by onlookers around 4:55 pm Friday, on a report of a fight with weapons. Perez was picked up by officers at a bus stop on Vinewood Lane, not far from where the original altercation occurred. The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital for decontamination after being pepper-sprayed, and then was booked in the Pueblo County Jail.
Police say Perez initially denied involvement in the altercation, but changed his story soon after. Perez is charged with class-4 felony menacing and was also charged for property damages. “He smashed the windows of both doors, and smashed the back window out,” said Haddock.
Haddock says he has been waving the American Flag on dozens of street corners around Pueblo since the Republican National Convention. His goal is to get Republicans in Pueblo energized before election day.
When asked if he might have provoked the altercation, Haddock denies it. “I was just there,” said Haddock. “That seemed to be provocation enough for him. For some reason the (American) flag itself seemed to be enough provocation to him. ”

CBS Local Boston ^ | October 19, 2020 at 6:34 pm | Staff
A woman charged with assaulting a Vietnam veteran because he supports President Trump was released on $250 bail Monday. Kiara Dudley, 34, was arrested after the weekend incident in Douglas.
The perp
The 73-year-old veteran and another person were at the intersection of Main and Webster streets just after noon Saturday with Trump flags and signs. Police said Dudley went up to the couple and “began to berate them with insults” and told them to leave.
As the couple tried to move away, police said Dudley bumped the veteran with her body and then stepped on his “Veterans for Trump” sign. As he bent over to pick it up, investigators said Dudley “knocked him to the ground causing an injury to his finger.”
Several people called 911 and Dudley was later arrested. She’s charged with assault and battery on an elderly person causing injury. At her arraignment in Uxbridge District Court Monday, she told the judge the man attacked her in the incident Saturday. Dudley was ordered to stay away from the man or her bail would be revoked. A man has been arrested in Connecticut on suspicion of starting a fire on a boat displaying a Donald Trump banner. Olajuwon Johnson, 25, of Bridgeport, has been charged with third-degree arson following an incident at the East End Yacht Club at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency management and emergency communications, told the Fairfield Citizen Bridgeport Police had received reporting a man with a can of gasoline on a boat. The 911 caller reported smelling smoke before noticing that a boat cooler was on fire. He extinguished the flames himself.
Police were then provided a description of the suspect. A man who later matched the description, later identified as Johnson, was found and detained. The man who made the 911 call also identified Johnson as the person he saw on the boat. Johnson was arrested and charged with third-degree arson. His bond was set at $10,000. The owner of the boat, Mark Bourque, said that Jonson was found by police holding a gas can.
Minnesota Trump supporters awaken to find garage on fire, ‘Biden 2020’ graffiti
FOX News ^ | September 23, 2020 | By Michael Ruiz
A Minnesota man who hung a “Trump 2020” flag on his truck awoke early Wednesday to find his family’s garage and three vehicles in flames, local police said.
The fire destroyed a detached garage and three vehicles, according to the Brooklyn Center Police Department, but the house itself sustained only minor damage and the family escaped without injuries. Police and firefighters said they rescued three dogs and four puppies from the burning garage.
The family’s Trump flag also burned, police said. Graffiti spray-painted on the smoldering garage included the phrases “Biden 2020”, “BLM” and an anarchist symbol. Police said the fire is being investigated as an arson with help from the ATF and FBI.
Fall River man beat Trump supporter, 82, over political sign, cops say
www.bostonherald.com ^ | June 3, 2020 | Sean Philip Cotter
A Fall River man ripped up an 82-year-old Air Force veteran’s Trump sign and beat him up, kicking the man repeatedly, police say.
Aiden Courtright, 24, of Fall River, was arraigned Wednesday and is being held for a dangerousness hearing that will take place Thursday, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office. That hearing, at the request of the DA Thomas Quinn’s office, will determine whether Courtright is able to be released on bail.
Courtright is charged with a civil rights violation with injury, assault and battery on someone over 60 with injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and vandalizing property. Fall River cops in a police report described the incident as a “political hate crime.”
Police said the 82-year-old was standing at the rotary at North Main Street and Airport Road shortly after 5 p.m. when a man — later identified as Courtright — put his car into park and confronted the man, according to the police report filled out by Fall River Police about the incident.
Courtright “ripped” the sign out of the man’s hands, “tore it in half and threw it to the ground,” police say. “Courtright then went after chase, grabbing him by his shirt knocking his hat off, and throwing him violently to the ground,” Fall River police wrote, noting that Courtright had pointed leather shoes. “Once (the victim) was on the ground he continued the attack by kicking him in the ribs and legs.”
The 82-year-old suffered what the police report described as “minor” injuries, but did have to go to the hospital, and has “visible bruising on his lower back.
The cops wrote that two witnesses nearby corroborated the 82-year-old’s description of what happened. Cops say Courtright hid out from them in his apartment, but then turned himself in when contacted by police.

Anti-Trump vandals going hog-wild in Arizona neighborhood. But Biden campaign signs? They’re left alone.
www.theblaze.com ^ | October 15, 2020 | Dave Urbanski
‘When they come right up to the doorway and go into a hallway and rip a flag down, that made me feel really violated’ One thing that’s glaringly apparent in Kevin Beamon’s neighborhood is the support for President Donald Trump.
As KPHO-TV noticed upon visiting the Scottsdale, Arizona, enclave, pro-Trump flags, signs, bumper stickers, and banners are in numerous yards. But on Monday night, several of those pro-Trump displays of support were slashed or stolen, the station said.
Not that there are only Trump supporters in this neck of the woods — a few folks have signs up for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, KPHO noted. However, the pro-Biden signs have been left alone, the station said.
Apparently it’s an anti-Trump operation. “They basically just defaced and destroyed a lot of political signs, which is obviously illegal,” Beamon told KPHO. What are the details?
Around midnight, Peter Cohen’s security camera caught two people — who looked an awful lot like Antifa types with helmets and black clothing — who tried jumping and climbing up his flagpole, the station said. Soon enough they were able to scale the pole and tear down his Trump 2020 flag, KPHO said, after which they ran off with it.The same thing happened 30 minutes earlier in a different part of the neighborhood, the station aid.
It also appears vandals sliced in half Cohen’s Trump signs in his yard because they couldn’t pull the iron stakes from the ground, KPHO reported.
Down the street, Randy Marema’s Trump flag was left torn in half and hanging in tatters from the top of his front porch, the station said. “When they come right up to the doorway and go into a hallway and rip a flag down, that made me feel really violated,” Marema added to KPHO. ‘It’s unacceptable’
Marianne Amato has Biden signs — and sympathy for her neighbors. “It’s unacceptable,” she told the station in regard to the vandalism. “I would feel the same way if somebody took my sign. Everybody has the right to an opinion.” ‘We can disagree agreeably — apparently, they can’t’
As for Cohen, he raised a spare Trump flag on the flagpole before most people even noticed, KPHO said. “I’m well stocked, of course, just for this kind of case,” Cohen told the station.
Beamon isn’t impressed with the vandals’ lack of civility, noting to KPHO: “We can disagree agreeably — apparently, they can’t.”
Mother punched through SUV window by unhinged leftist who didn’t like her Trump flags
www.theblaze.com ^ | October 16, 2020 | Dave Urbanski
Leftists continue to lose their minds — or believe they can get away with blatant violence — in public places full of surveillance cameras.
Police in Fall River, Massachusetts, said a mother was driving with her 11-year-old daughter in the area of South Main and Hall streets last week when two women in another vehicle apparently didn’t take too kindly to the mom’s flags supporting President Donald Trump that were flying off both sides of her SUV, WHDH-TV reported.
Police provided the station with surveillance video showing the initial part of the confrontation, as the Trump supporter’s vehicle is within the yellow oval on the left side of the screen while an arrow points at the suspects seated in a vehicle on the right side of the screen:
The women pulled up to the victim’s vehicle, exchanged words about the flags, and then violently assaulted her — as her daughter looked on from the back seat, Fall River Police Lt. Jay Huard told the station.”[The mom] was trying to attempt to de-escalate the situation by telling the two females to get away from her car,” Huard added to WHDH. “She put her window down to … communicate in a better fashion, and at that point she was punched through the open window.” Police shared a surveillance image showing the suspects fleeing the scene in a gray Nissan Altima, the station said.
Concerned resident Jessica Spauone told WHDH she’s outraged by the incident: “I hope they find them. That is so rude and disrespectful, and they should pay for what they did.” She added to the station that “we need respect. People have lost that humanity; we need that again. People need to bond together and learn how to love each other.”
Huard told WHDH his department has been responding to an increasing number of crimes related to the presidential election. “I would just say maintain your composure,” he added to the station. “Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and let your voice be at the polls.”
Man, 60, tells cops he burned Trump flag hanging from home during paper route because he was ‘angry’
www.theblaze.com ^ | October 19, 2020 | Dave Urbanski
Police said a 60-year-old man told them he set fire to a flag supporting President Donald Trump — which was hanging from a home on his newspaper route — because he was “angry,” NorthcentralPA.com reported.
Harrison Bennett was charged with felony arson after police in Shamokin City, Pennsylvania, said he set the flag ablaze when it was attached to an occupied building, the outlet said. Bennett is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge John Gembic on Nov. 10, the outlet added.
Officer Tyler R. Bischof said Bennett used a cigarette lighter to burn a Trump flag attached to a house in the 400 block of South Shamokin St. just after 3 a.m. Aug. 27, the outlet reported, citing a Sept. 4 criminal complaint. The homeowner had a video of the flag burning incident, and a photograph from the video was posted to the Shamokin Crime Watch Facebook page in an attempt to identify him, Bischof told the outlet.
Police said they got a tip that the man in the video may work for a paper in the city, the News-Item, the outlet noted. Turns out Bennett helped another man deliver newspapers along a route that included the scene of the flag burning, the outlet added, citing the complaint. “Bennett said that he has anger problems and that it spilled over and so he lit the flag,” Bischof wrote, according to NorthcentralPA. Bennett made the following written statement: “I got up at 2:00 am and went and helped with newspaper. Was angry and burned flag,” the outlet said, citing the complaint.
Besides felony arson, Bennett also was charged with one felony count of risking catastrophe and one count of summary criminal mischief.
MD Biden Supporter Arrested For Firing Shotgun at 2 Trump Supporters Who Honked at Him While Driving by His Property
www.thegatewaypundit.com ^ | October 19, 2020 at 9:21pm | By Cristina Laila Published
A Biden supporter on Saturday was arrested and charged for firing a shotgun at 2 Trump supporters driving by his property. The Biden supporter, 50-year-old Douglas Kuhn, was reportedly putting up a Biden 2020 sign on his yard when a father and son drove by in a truck with Trump 2020 flags and honked. Kuhn became enraged, grabbed his shotgun and discharged his weapon.
The Trump supporters, Neal Houk and his son, Bradley Lang, sped off and called police. According to reports no one was injured and the truck was not damaged.
WBALTV reported:
Trump supporters Neal Houk and his son, Bradley Lang, called it a neighborly act, a friendly honk to a Biden supporter they spotted putting up a Black Lives Matter sign. “It’s Kingsville, it’s a friendly area. Everyone honks at each other. We think we were hoping there could be some civility between people who support different candidates,” Lang said.
Police said Kuhn picked up a shotgun and discharged it as the truck drove by. The victims drove to a safe location and called police. No one was injured and the truck was not damaged.
“We were looking right down the barrel of a shotgun,” Houk said. “He picked up a shotgun from near his feet and ran towards us aiming it and we got 100, 200 feet down the road, he began to fire,” Lang said. “We were scared, although we were happy that he missed, the truck was missed and we were alright.”
Kuhn allegedly initially told everyone that he had a shovel, not a shotgun in his hand. There are witnesses who say otherwise. Police arrested Kuhn and charged him with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and using a firearm in the commission of a crime. Police said officers confiscated two firearms from Kuhn’s property.
The judge assigned to the case was furious and scolded the shooter. “How did it get to the point where he pulls out a shotgun? What has the world come to? This is beyond belief. Free speech. Why resort to weaponry. This could have been horrible,” Baltimore County District Court Judge Philip Tirabassi said during Monday’s bail hearing.
“I would never think — especially in Kingsville — that anyone would be violent about this situation. We all play nice here. It is America,” Houk said.
“He obviously has his political beliefs, as he showed with his signs. We were expressing those same rights, and he attacked us for that,” Lang said.
Kuhn was ordered to serve home detention until his next court date.
Finnish man ordered by court to pay alimony for a child resulting from his wife cheating with another man
Helsinki Times (Finland) ^ | 19 OCTOBER 2020
THE HELSINKI COURT OF APPEAL has upheld the verdict given by the district court that a man has to pay alimony for a child which is not biologically his, and was the result of his wife cheating on him with another man.
The man’s wife had given birth to the child in 2014 but it was only two years later that he found out that he was not the biological father of the child. This resulted in the couple’s divorce and the man applied for abolishment of paternity, which was not granted.
The court had argued that he had applied for the annulment of paternity a couple of months too late. According to the Finnish law men have up to two years to apply for voiding paternity of a child born in wedlock, which turns out to be biologically unrelated. The deadline could be extended only for significant reasons.
The man had argued that the fact that he only had found out later and was shocked by the divorce and emotional distress of the revelation. The court had not seen these reasons as significant enough.
Later the mother of the child had sued the man for alimony and the court had ruled that he is obliged to pay the alimony as well as for the legal costs of the cheating wife who had taken him to court.
The case has incited social media uproar with many Finns finding the ruling unjust and some commenting on the need for a “We Too” movement in defence of men’s rights.

Robert Reich vows purges and show trials of conservatives if Biden is elected
American Thinker – Monica Showalter – 10/19/20
Is the average American voter really thinking about all the ways to get back at voters who voted for President Trump?
Well, it’s what certain influential Democrats want, full blown show-trials and purges, same as the communists pioneered. Seems that equality and redistribution, don’t really motivate them in the promises of socialism — purges, show trials, Gulags and re-education camps are what get them going.
And it makes sense. Socialism has failed everywhere it’s ever been tried, every time, every place, every place it’s ever been practiced, people are poorer, unfreerer and less advanced than in places with capitalism. They’ve got a 100% record on failure for that.
But where they don’t have a record of failure is on a reign of terror, where neighbor spies on neighbor for a secret police, thought crimes are punished, mass imprisonment and re-education camps are a way of life, show trials appear where groveling people stand before people’s commissars and profess to love what they hate and hate what they love, and the yin and yang of violence to reinforce lies and lies to cover up violence. There are also party purges to keep everyone in a state of fear.
That’s what socialists are good at.
And sure enough, that’s what Reich is calling for. Reich, it’s important to note, is no ordinary crazy leftist. He’s President Clinton’s former Secretary of Labor and a fixture in Democrat party politics. He’s the establishment. He’s the mainstream.
And Joe Biden, who is being controlled by so many puppetmasters of this ilk. will do as he’s told by the likes of Reich. So much for Biden’s promise to be the president of ‘all the people.’ This is what he means by ‘all the people.’
This ought to be a campaign issue. Democrats are plotting the worst for their GOP rivals in a bid to control all ideas, all thoughts, every straying question. As Sen. Lindsey Graham once said: “Boy y’all want power, god I hope you never get it.”
Seattle officers leave scathing responses in exit interviews
KTUL – Undated
Seattle Police officers who are leaving the department gave scathing responses during their exit interviews.
KOMO obtained the exit interviews — which blamed city leadership, to riots and low morale for leaving the department. Brutal and blunt — in their own words, SPD officers did not hold back their reasons for leaving the force.
One retiring patrol sergeant who had been on the force for more than 20 years said, “I refuse to work for this socialist city council and their political agenda. This agenda sacrifices the health and well-being of the officers and ultimately will destroy the fabric of this once fine city.”
When asked: “What factors had a negative effect on morale in the department?” One officer whose job is up in the air said, “The council wanting to defund us and gaining ground doing it. Rioters not being charged even when they assault officers.”
Another patrol officer from the East Precinct who was resigning after 6-10 years of service offered this explanation for leaving the department, “Current hostile work environment. In a precinct that is under civil unrest by a small group that is constantly committing multiple felonies and attempting to murder peace officers.”
When followed up with the question: “What did you enjoy least about working at SPD?” The officer said, “I enjoyed almost every aspect of working with Seattle PD itself. The one thing that I enjoyed the least was the handling of the last three months of riots.”
Jim Fuda is the Crimestoppers Director of Law Enforcement Services which works with SPD. He said the responses point to a hostile and non-supportive work environment for officers. “It’s ridiculous,” Fuda said. “Just when you think it can’t get more, inane, it does.”
In response to the question: “Would you like to work for SPD again in the future?” Some said they’re open to the opportunity if things change “drastically.”
One K-9 officer who’s resigning after more than 11 years said, “I highly doubt it. You could pay me twice what you’re paying me now and I would not work for Seattle under this current political mayhem, Marxist collaborations and lack of government and police leadership.”
“It’s an absolute joke and a travesty for the rest of the citizens here in this city, this once beautiful city,” said Fuda. “Our police department is there to protect all of us and because of the cutbacks and the retirements, who’s going to protect our public safety.”
According to the exit interviews, the some of the SPD officers are leaving for departments like Everett, Des Moines, Kennewick and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office—places they said the feel like they will get more support.
‘Log off! Log off!’ teacher orders students when sexual assault livestreamed during first grader’s remote learning class
Chicago Tribune ^ | 17 OCT 2020 | Deanese Williams-Harris and Rosemary Sobol
An 18-year-old man out on bond for a gun case was held without bail after he livestreamed himself during a sexual act with a 7-year-old first grader on break from her Chicago Public Schools remote learning class on Thursday prosecutors said.
Catrell A. Walls, of the West Chesterfield neighborhood on the South Side, was arrested Thursday afternoon shortly after 3:30 p.m., after he was seen molesting the girl, police said.
Walls, charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 years old, appeared for a bond hearing Saturday afternoon before Judge Charles Beach.
Police were made aware of the attack when the girl’s teacher saw it on a computer screen during a Google classroom e-learning session.
NY Dem Congressional Candidate Running As A Sterling Former Army Officer Was Actually Relieved Of Duty
Daily Caller ^ | 10/19/2020 | Henry Rodgers
New York Democratic congressional candidate Jackie Gordon’s military records show she was subject to two investigations during her time in the U.S. Army, resulting in two separate recommendations that she be relieved of command, one of which was acted upon in Afghanistan, according to two Department of Defense sources with direct knowledge of the investigations.
The Daily Caller obtained an unredacted Department of Defense document from a source with direct knowledge of an investigation into Gordon’s behavior as a lieutenant colonel from December 2011, as well as a redacted Department of Defense document (described as “interim findings”) that shows Gordon was again under investigation in Afghanistan and was subsequently relieved of duty.
BLM’s Marxist Co-Founders Sign On To Reap The Rewards Of Capitalism
Hotair.com – KAREN TOWNSEND – 10/19/20
The three women co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement have all signed on with creative talent representation agencies. They are all self-avowed “trained Marxists” and now they are ready to cash in on capitalism. It doesn’t get much more 2020 than this, does it? This is worthy of a *chef’s kiss*.
I began noticing that the women were making moves to ink deals with talent agencies beginning last summer. The irony of their goal of tearing down our capitalist society and replacing it with a Marxist society has been a part of the story all along. The three women, Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi, have all signed on to Hollywood agencies.
Over the weekend, Patrisse Cullors made news for signing a deal with Warner Brothers Television Group (WBTVG). It is a multi-year, wide-ranging deal. Generally speaking, Cullors will develop and produce original programming across “all platforms, including broadcast, cable, and streaming.” More specifically, her deal includes “scripted and unscripted series, longform series, animated and kids programming, as well as digital content.” In other words, she’s been given carte blanche by Warner Brothers. Details of the deal were not announced. The Marxist doesn’t want you to know exactly how big she is cashing in with capitalism, you see.
“Black voices, especially Black voices who have been historically marginalized, are important and integral to today’s storytelling. Our perspective and amplification is necessary and vital to helping shape a new narrative for our families and communities. I am committed to uplifting these stories in my new creative role with the Warner Bros. family,” Cullors said in a statement. “As a long time community organizer and social justice activist, I believe that my work behind the camera will be an extension of the work I’ve been doing for the last twenty years. I look forward to amplifying the talent and voices of other Black creatives through my work.”
When Cullors speaks of “our perspective” I do wonder if she is speaking about black people in general or black women specifically or Marxists. How does the thought of Marxist propaganda filtering down to children’s programming strike you? She has one book out now that is written for young people. Its title is “When They Call You a Terrorist: A Story of Black Lives Matter and The Power to Change the World”. On her website is a petition to sign to support the Defund the Police movement, as well as a call for abolishing prisons. She’s been influencing young people as a mentor and educator, too.
Patrisse wears another hat as an educator and academic mentor with Prescott University’s new Social and Environmental Arts MFA. She developed and teaches this MFA program at Prescott University to help students intersect art and activism to develop true social change across racial lines.
She’s teaching the next generation of AOCs, right? First socialists infiltrated schools, now it’s Marxists. What can go wrong? A video surfaced from 2015 that shows Cullors describing herself and the other co-founders of BLM as “trained Marxists”. She is a protege Eric Mann, who worked with Bill Ayers, a domestic terrorist from his days in the Weather Underground and friend of Barack Obama.
BLM co-founder Alicia Garza signed with ICM Partners for representation in August. She is an Oakland-based writer and public speaker. She, too, influences the next generation as the Principal at the Black Futures Lab and the Black to the Future Action Fund.
Garza, creator and host of the Lady Don’t Take No podcast, has a number of future projects already lined up. Her first book Purpose Of Power: How We Come Together When We Fall Apart will drop on Oct. 20. She is also set to appear alongside Oprah Winfrey for HBO’s adaptation of Between The World And Me, the New York Times bestseller by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Co-founder Opal Tometi also has Hollywood representation. She signed on with WME last July. Her focus is on social media and online platforms, as well as immigration rights. She is here thanks to the generosity of America and was groomed to be a community activist at a young age.
As one of three co-founders of Black Lives Matter, Tometi spearheaded and launched #BLM’s social media strategy and launching its online platforms. For nearly a decade, she served as the first female Executive Director of the Black Alliance for Just Immigration, the leading Black organization for immigrant rights.
A daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Tometi has first-hand experience when it comes to challenges that her tight-knit Black immigrant community faced while growing up in Arizona. She witnessed the human rights crisis at the US-Mexico border, and at a young age became an outspoken community organizer.
All of these women have received numerous awards, including TIME 100’s Most influential Women of The Century, and are currently featured in the Smithsonian’s National Museum for African History and Culture. They are living the dream in capitalist America, free to pursue their Marxist goals. They are celebrated for their work in bringing about a revolution, inciting riots in the streets in the name of social justice.
Don’t be surprised to see Black Lives Matter themes in programming for children as well as adults. Patrisse Cullors is already ahead in that as a staff writer for Freeform network’s television show, Good Trouble. She also was given a role in the show. I cover that show for NewsBusters and the play on Rep. John Lewis’ words in the title is no mistake. The lead characters are social activists and last season’s main story centered around the BLM movement. That show targets a teenage audience and those in their early twenties.
NJ Attorney General is suing Trump administration over Tweet
Nick Givas | Fox News – 10/19/20
New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal is suing the Trump administration over claims the president made earlier this year on social media regarding low-income housing and its connection to rises in crime. Trump tweeted about the issue in July, referencing an Obama-era Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulation he’d rescinded.
Secretary Ben Carson announced the change, which returned certain federal powers to the states and eliminated arduous paperwork. “I am happy to inform all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream that you will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low-income housing built in your neighborhood,” the commander-in-chief wrote. “Your housing prices will go up based on the market, and crime will go down. I have rescinded the Obama-Biden AFFH Rule. Enjoy!”
Grewal, a Democrat, tweeted about the case on Monday, saying his formal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests had been ignored by the federal government, prompting him to bring the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
“Nothing,” he tweeted. “That’s what we got from the Trump Administration when we requested data supporting the President’s claims linking affordable housing to crime. We called them out, and they came up empty. Now we’re suing for answers.”
Grewal said he is seeking any information supportive of Trump’s claims from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and HUD, about the connection to spikes in criminal activity and low-income housing.
A New York Post column stated that under the AFFH (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing) rule, “towns everywhere would have had to scrap zoning, build bigger water and sewer lines to support high-density living, expand schools and social services and add mass transit. All pushing up local taxes. Towns that refused would lose their federal aid.”
The same month Trump tweeted about a link between crime rates and low-income housing, he was also quoted as saying, “Your home will go down in value and crime rates will rapidly rise.”
“People have worked all their lives to get into a community,” the president added. “And now they’re going to watch it go to hell. Not going to happen, not while I’m here.”
Corporate Takeover Of ‘Fact-Checking’ Is Just A Different Path To The Same Partisan Censorship: Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
The Federalist ^ | 10/20/2020 | Christopher Bedford
The last week was a rough one for the fact-check industry, not simply because they demonstrably screwed up a series of very public decisions, but because those decisions exposed them for what they’ve always been: tools for censoring conservatives.
Twitter followed Facebook into the corporate grey zone Wednesday, not even waiting for an “official” media fact-check before banning links to — and accounts associated with — a New York Post story that appears to show Biden family corruption. By evening, Twitter had suspended not just the 3rd largest newspaper in the country, but also the Trump campaign’s account as well as the White House press secretary’s personal account. By the following morning, they’d censored the House Judiciary Committee.
Why? The excuses kept changing but eventually settled on blaming the Russians — an excuse the director of national intelligence shot down early Monday morning.
The Poynter Institute, a non-profit organization in Florida that’s basically the arbiter of who’s allowed to be a fact-checker, was somewhere between mystified and furious at the tech giants’ tactics. “The decision to reduce or prevent the distribution of the New York Post’s article based on some mysterious, non-transparent criteria and an unknown methodology is a serious mistake,” Cristina Tardáguila, the second-in-command of Poynter’s International Fact-Checking Network, wrote.
“Who are these partners they speak of?” the top editor of Poynter’s PolitiFact demanded to know.
Twitter might not, but Facebook does have a fact-check partnership with Poynter’s International Fact-Checking Network. The company partnered with the network to avoid just this kind of situation, but on Wednesday morning professional-Democrat-turned-Facebook-communicator Andy Stone publicly decreed they’d get the results they wanted more quickly if they did the fact-check themselves.
So Poynter’s complaints, while still right on their face, are really just complaints about having been cut out of the process, threatening their perch as corporate-designated arbiters of truth. Corporate America cutting the media fact-checkers out, however, doesn’t make all that much difference to you and me. The bypassed process is itself rotten, and the end result of either measure is just the same: partisan censorship.
Just one day before the New York Post’s big story, for example, liberal news site The Dispatch “fact-checked” an obviously true Facebook post, finding it false. The Dispatch article, by a reporter who had released her fact check just a week prior, was published by the team and manually uploaded into Facebook. After three days of pressure over the sloppy work and laughable finding, the site’s top editor claimed it had all been a technical mistake and updated their finding to “true.” The Dispatch is certified by Poynter.
A day before that, Facebook labeled a Federalist article on a Centers for Disease Control report false, relying on a blanket pro-mask “fact check” from a liberal science site with no bylines and no public contact information. That site is certified by Poynter too.
A month prior, Facebook used a PolitiFact check to block a conservative ad campaign. The check claimed PolitiFact could not fact-check the ad because it can’t fact-check the future, but its editor in chief defended the ad being blocked, telling The Federalist “the ad is most certainly missing context.” PolitiFact is literally run by Poynter. Their slogan is “facts are under assault in 2020.”
Poynter’s not alone. During Thursday’s townhalls, The New York Times’ regular political reporters jumped in on the fun, claiming President Donald Trump was fact-check-false for saying he’s done more for black Americans than any president since Abraham Lincoln. On what grounds? The completely subjective measurement that they’d found historians who disagreed.
Fact-checking has long been a dubious industry. Meant as some sort of designated section where reporters deal in facts only, its very existence is a tacit admission that the rest of the paper can’t be trusted.
Organizations like Poynter give it all a glossy coat with their certification system, but even Poynter’s rigorous process standards are a sort of strawman. The root of so much journalistic bias doesn’t even lie in straight-up falsehoods, but in a hidden kind of selection bias. Which stories are covered and which are ignored? Which aspects are deemed important enough to make the headline or top of the story, and which are buried deep down below or not mentioned at all? Which subjective utterance is false according to some preferred subjective utterance? Who is asked to comment and where are they featured? Even what picture is chosen: All of these things can convey different messages, or none at all, and all are tools employed by fact-checkers.
Over the past several years, dressed up in official-sounding titles, the fact-checkers have allied themselves with some of the most powerful private companies to have ever existed — with quick results. One report, for example, finds that Facebook and Twitter have censored Trump 65 times, while not censoring former Vice President Joe Biden once. That’s no surprise: Senior leadership across all of the world’s biggest tech companies have made their anti-Trump bias known.
All that is fine with the fact-checkers, who are paid well for certain partnerships. Fine with them, unless the companies decide they don’t need them anymore. For the American public, it’s “meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” Either way, you lose.
Glenn Greenwald on Tucker Carlson Calls Adam Schiff ‘The Most Pathological Liar in All Of American Politics’
Mediaite ^ | Oct 20, 2020 | CHARLIE NASH
The Intercept co-founder Glenn Greenwald called House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) “the most pathological liar in all American politics” during an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight.
Discussing the Hunter Biden laptop controversy, which Schiff has claimed without evidence is part of a Russian disinformation campaign, Carlson said, “I’ve seen a fair bit of the material on this laptop and the response by the media and particularly by the so-called intel community strikes me as much more threatening to America than anything on this laptop.”
Greenwald responded, “I couldn’t agree more, Tucker,” before adding, “First of all, Adam Schiff is seriously the most pathological liar in all of American politics that I have seen in all of my time covering politics and journalism.”
“He just fabricates accusations at the drop of a hat the way that other people change underwear. He’s simply lying when he just asserts over and over that the Russians or the Kremlin are behind this story,” Greenwald said. “He has no idea whether or not that’s true. There’s no evidence to support it.”
“And what makes it so much worse is that the reason the Bidens aren’t answering basic questions about this story, basic questions like: Did Hunter Biden drop that laptop off at that repair shop? Are the emails authentic? Do you deny that they are? Do you claim any have been altered or any of them fabricated? Did you in fact meet with Burisma executives as these emails suggest?” he went on. “The reason that they don’t answer any questions is because the media has signaled that they don’t have to. That journalists will be attacked and vilified simply for asking.”
Project Veritas exposes Google manager admitting to election interference
The Postmillennial ^ | October 19, 2020 | Libby Emmons
On Monday, Project Veritas released a new video that exposes the hidden political agenda of Google’s top managers and shows how Google manipulated algorithms to skew conservative content negatively.
In the video, Google’s Cloud Technical Program Manager Ritesh Lakhar said that it is intentional that the Google search results that show scathingly negative content regarding Donald Trump and entirely positive content about Joe Biden. Lakhar said that the content was “skewed by the owners and drivers of the algorithm.”
“Like so, if I say, ‘Hey Google, here’s another two billion dollars, feed this data set of whenever Joe Biden is searched, you’ll get these results.'”
Lakhar said “If Trump wins, there will be riots. And if they left wins, they will be ecstatic.” He told Project Veritas journalists that “I disagree with the corporations playing God and taking away freedom of speech on both sides, basically.”
In describing the intention of those who built the algorithm that filters search results along partisan lines, Lakhar said:
“So, I’m like, you’re like playing selective God. Like, if it was fraud it doesn’t matter, but for Trump or Melania Trump, it matters. And on the other side, Trump says something, misinformation, you’re gonna delete that because it’s illegal under whatever pretext. And if a Democratic leader says that, then you’re gonna leave it like that. So I’m like, okay, you’re not following one way or the other. You are just plain and simple trying to play God.”
Lakhar explained what it was like at Google after Trump won the presidency in 2016. “When Trump won the first time, people were crying in the corridors of Google. There were protests, there were marches. There were like I guess, group therapy sessions for employees, organized by HR.”
Anyone who was on the Democrat side during the last election will remember the horror that befell leftists, liberals, and Democrats in the wake of Hillary’s lost. People called out of work, the first Women’s March was planned with the intention of “opposing Trump,” and the concept of “resisting” anything the newly minted president did or said was made.
With regard to his own feelings on his work, he said “I can’t keep doing this. Go and teach Chinese people how to do American jobs and come back and get surveilled on the way.” He was working for Google and FitBit at the time. “So I guess that’s one of the reasons I feel suffocated at Google,” he said.
Project Veritas reported that Lakhar said “Because on one side, you have this professional or unprofessional attitude and on the other side, you have this ultra-leftist attitude, and your entire existence is questioned.”
The video reveals what so many have previously surmised, that big tech companies, like Google and social media platforms, are intentionally endeavouring to influence specifically the American presidential election though manipulating algorithms and being purposefully opaque about how they are doing that and with what motivations.
Rampant shoplifting leads to another Walgreens closing in S.F. (Calif.)
Sand Francisco Chronicle ^ | 10/18/2020 | Phil Matier
After months of seeing its shelves repeatedly cleaned out by brazen shoplifters, the Walgreens at Van Ness and Eddy in San Francisco is getting ready to close. “The last day is Nov. 11,” Walgreens spokesman Phil Caruso said.
The drugstore, which serves many older people who live in the Opera Plaza area, is the seventh Walgreens to close in the city since 2019. Under California law, theft of less than $950 in goods is treated as a nonviolent misdemeanor.
“All of us knew it was coming. Whenever we go in there, they always have problems with shoplifters,” said longtime customer Sebastian Luke, who lives a block away and is a frequent customer who has been posting photos of the thefts for months. The other day, Luke photographed a man casually clearing a couple of shelves and placing the goods into a backpack.
“I feel sorry for the clerks, they are regularly being verbally assaulted,” Luke said. “The clerks say there is nothing they can do. They say Walgreens’ policy is to not get involved. They don’t want anyone getting injured or getting sued, so the guys just keep coming in and taking whatever they want.”
When a clerk was asked where all the goods had gone, he said, “Go ask the people in the alleys, they have it all.” Homeless encampments are common in the neighborhood, including two just across Eddy Street.
No sooner had the clerk spoken than a man wearing a virus mask walked in, emptied two shelves of snacks into a bag, then headed back for the door. As he walked past the checkout line, a customer called out, “Sure you don’t want a drink with that?”
The Political Games Proxy Advisors Play With Workers Retirement Security
Townhall.com ^ | October 19, 2020 | Ken Blackwell
Over the next several weeks, the Department of Labor will begin to sift through the public comments on their recently proposed rule “Fiduciary Duties Regarding Proxy Voting and Shareholder Rights,” seeking the best course of action to ensure that pension beneficiaries across this country receive the benefits they deserve. This rule reaffirms the fiduciary obligations that ERISA-backed pension fund managers owe to their beneficiaries, and puts forward much needed reforms in a proxy advisory industry that for too long has neglected to serve the best interest of pensioners.
In this tumultuous election season, where even non-controversial issues have become political, it is reassuring to see the Department take steps to codify the bedrock fiduciary principles that have guided pension fund management for decades. Pension fund investment decisions must remain apolitical, driven solely by the financial benefit they can provide.
As a former Treasurer of the State of Ohio, I have had firsthand experience overseeing a pension system and I take seriously the responsibility of a fund’s management team to provide financial security to the men and women who worked hard their entire lives with the promise of a secure retirement. For pension beneficiaries across the country, this proposal by the Department of Labor is a positive step toward ensuring that accountability and fiscal responsibility take precedent. Based on the overwhelming proportion of public comment letters in favor of the proposal, it seems that most people agree.
The proxy system has long been taken advantage of by those without fiduciary responsibilities, preventing sound advice from reaching the nation’s pension and investment funds. There is currently a duopoly in the system, in which two companies, Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and Glass Lewis, guide the decisions of the entire proxy advisory market. The limited number of proxy firms compared to the multitude of institutions seeking their assistance has limited responsiveness and the ability of investors to critically evaluate the advice they receive. Despite their influence, they are, unlike fund managers, under no obligation to uphold a fiduciary duty to the clients they represent, or to provide insight into whether their decisions are made based on the desire to maximize value for shareholders. Flawed recommendations are prevalent, and there is limited transparency into the decision-making process.
Beyond the scope of the current proposal, I believe that more should be done by the Department to counter the unaccountable practice of “robo-voting,” in which some fund managers have simply accepted the voting recommendations of proxy advisors automatically without considering the broader fiduciary impact of the proposals.
Unfortunately, this practice has become more and more widespread at the expense of transparency to beneficiaries. Recent research from the Ohio State University notes that 400 of the top institutional investors – including many pension funds – automatically voted in line with the recommendations of ISS and Glass Lewis at least 99.5% of the time. This is a grave divergence from the managerial obligations that fund managers should have toward plan participants and beneficiaries.
The Department of Labor should take additional steps to clarify and codify stronger regulations on the practice of robo-voting within this rule. Several months ago, the Securities and Exchange Commission adopted guidelines on the practice of robo-voting which, among other things, require asset managers to take into consideration information released after proxy advisor vote recommendations are made, as well as providing access to company rebuttals of proxy firm recommendations. Short of banning robo-voting entirely, measures should be implemented which prohibit its use in instances where there is a contested proxy vote recommendation. Pension beneficiaries deserve transparency into the processes impacting their money, and the current widespread prevalence of robo-voting is standing in their way.
At the end of the day, pension fund investment must remain an apolitical decision. At the Institute for Pension Fund Integrity, where I sit on the board, we are focused on that objective in order to protect the financial security of America’s workforce. I applaud the Department of Labor’s efforts to further codify these most basic tenets of fiduciary duty, and as they work toward finalizing this regulatory proposal, they should remain singularly focused on ensuring a generous, stable retirement for those who have paid into the system.
San Francisco Won’t Reopen Schools. But It Will Rename Them
Reason ^ | October 16, 2020 | Robby Soave
The officials in charge of San Francisco’s public schools are hard at work—not coming up with a plan to quickly reopen the schools, but to rename as many as 44 of them.
As parents, teachers, and principals deal with the frustrations of distance learning, the San Francisco Unified School District recently asked them to brainstorm replacements for schools that are “inappropriately” named after problematic historical figures, such as Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and even Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D–Calif.).
“I don’t think there is ever going to be a time when people are ready for this,” Mark Sanchez, president of the school board and a member of the committee that proposed the changes, told the San Francisco Chronicle. “Predictably people are going to be upset no matter when we do this.”
Maybe. But people are more upset right now, because San Francisco’s public schools aren’t even open and have no plans to reopen until probably January.
Many private schools in the city have successfully reopened. San Francisco, like D.C., New York City, Chicago, Baltimore, and many other large cities, has deemed it safe for privileged kids to go back to school. Yet families that rely on public education have been told they must wait, no matter the harmful consequences for their children.
Given the difficulties of virtual education, parents might expect school officials to be making every effort to reopen as soon as possible. But in San Francisco, reopening doesn’t seem like nearly as high a priority as renaming buildings or covering up offensive art.
Scam Artist Uses Black Lives Matter Movement to Threaten Fort Mill Ice Cream Shop
Fort Mill Sun ^ | 10/14/20 | Greg Rickabaugh
A scam artist got away with $122 from a Fort Mill ice cream shop after threatening to lie about them to the media, according to a police report.
The manager of Cold Stone Creamery in Kingsley Town Center said a black female came into the shop on Oct. 1 while a young employee was working. “(She) stated that she had an issue with the way she was treated during a previous visit to the business,” a police report says. “She wanted a full refund for the items that she purchased, totally $122.72.”
The suspect would not let the employee contact the manager or owner. She then made a threat. “If (the employee) did not refund her, she would contact the media and tell them that the business does not support the Black Lives Matter movement,” the police report says.
Ohio State prof says Clarence Thomas not ‘authentically Black’
Campusreform.com – John Hanson – 10/15/20
At a symposium hosted by Texas A&M University at Commerce, titled, “What the Truth Sounds Like,” Professor Donna Ford argued that one of the significant problems in education is White females.
She also noted that diversity of “skin color” is not enough, considering that she wouldn’t want “Clarence Thomas teaching my damn kids.”
“There is a monopoly on education, where White females being about 85 percent of the teaching force, and then you know pretty much the same thing with white administrators. So White females I’m speaking to you, and I’m saying you’ve got to get your sh- stuff together,” said Ford during her lecture.
“We need more diversity among educational professionals. And I don’t mean your skin color, I mean like I don’t want Clarence Thomas teaching my damn kids.” She would continue, “But you got to get your stuff together because you know what, you’re the problem, and then you’re the major problem.”
In an interview with Campus Reform, Ford said that she did not mean that “all” or the “majority” of white women fall into the category, “Not all, but I like to use the term far too many, and ten is far too many. We don’t need any racist teachers in education.”
Ford also argued during her lecture that “white fragility” has a problematic role to play in education, saying “too many educational leaders are bystanders, fearful of white fragility, especially afraid to have White women’s tears show up, so they avoid a pedagogy of discomfort, and I believe in the pedagogy of discomfort.”
Ford clarified to Campus Reform that she believes that educators often “tend not to hold White women accountable because of perceived fragility,” adding that people often perceive White women as being unable to “handle feedback and criticism and asking them to make changes,” whereas Black women are perceived as “super strong” and able to “handle anything.”
During her lecture, Ford argued that “when people talk about implicit bias, in my opinion, it lets racists off the hook. Because then they can say, ‘Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t mean it, it wasn’t intentional.’ Yea no, it was damn intentional; you know what you did.” She told Campus Reform that people can know their implicit biases and that the problem is when people choose not to overcome their implicit biases and allow it to become explicit.
She pointed to the teacher in Dallas who put Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old accused of shooting three protestors at Kenosha, on a list of possible heroes that students could write about. Ford noted that Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi were also on the list “but then had the fricken ‘caudasity,’ and that’s a term I coined, ‘caudasity’ not audacity but ‘caudacity’ to put Kyle Rittenhouse on that list. How the hell is he a hero? And if you don’t know who he is, look him up, because I don’t have time to explain that.”
When calling for diversity, Ford said, “We need more diversity among educational professionals. And I don’t mean your skin color, I mean like I don’t want Clarence Thomas teaching my damn kids.”
Ford clarified to Campus Reform her opinions, saying, “Just because a person, an educator is black, does not mean they’re authentically black and have racial pride, and that’s why for example I used Clarence Thomas.”
In her lecture, Ford, called for “more required” training on “equity, diversity, and inclusion”, calling it a “disgrace for any university to not have professionals, students, from all professionals get training in equity, diversity, and inclusion.”
“It needs to be at least 4 classes,” Ford added.
She told Campus Reform that the classes should be focused on teaching all students about the achievements of all races. In colleges, the classes should be focused on the specific major of the student.
“White students need to…see what others are doing in terms of major advancements,” she said.
San Diego school districts overhauls grading system to combat racism
Bradford Betz | Fox News – 10/18/20
The San Diego Unified School District last week approved a major overhaul to its grading system as a part of a larger effort to combat racial discrimination.
The new changes came in response to data that showed disparities between the percentage of white and minority students who received D or F grades, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
According to the data, Black students accounted for about 20% of all D or F grades during the first semester of last year, while Native American and Hispanic students each accounted for 23%. By comparison, white students made up 7% of all D or F grades during that same period.
Under the district’s new system, non-academic factors like late work and classroom behavior will not be counted toward their overall academic grade.
SDUSD Vice President Richard Barrera said the overhaul represents the district’s “honest reckoning.”
“If we’re actually going to be an anti-racist school district, we have to confront practices like this that have gone on for years and years,” Barrera said. “I think this reflects a reality that students have described to us and it’s a change that’s a long time coming.”
The new system, which affects mostly middle school and high school students, will be implemented over this year and next.
Abortion activists want Dems to dump Sen. Feinstein from Senate Judiciary Committee
lifesitenews ^ | 10/17/2020 | Doug Mainwaring
Soon after the Senate Judiciary Committee concluded Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing, NARAL Pro-Choice America called for the Democrats’ ranking member, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, to be replaced because she wasn’t sufficiently outraged that proceedings had taken place before the upcoming presidential election.
Liberals, fearful that with Barrett on the court Roe v. Wade might be overturned, were appalled that as the week of hearings concluded, Sen. Feinstein (D-CA) said, “This has been one of the best set of hearings that I’ve participated in.”
Many liberals were no doubt disappointed that the 87-year-old California senator did not attack Barrett’s Catholic faith as she had previously (although a hot mic did catch Feinstein saying of Barrett: “She’s been pro-life for a long time…I suspect with her, it is deeply personal and comes with her religion…”). Feinstein also didn’t show the same doggedness displayed during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing.
Feinstein compounded their agony when she then walked over to committee Chairman, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and gave him a hug. For some liberal Washington observers and activist groups who already thought that Feinstein had not fought hard enough for the seat left empty by Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death, the hug was the final straw.
“I don’t care that Feinstein and Graham are friends,” tweeted Susan Hennessey, executive editor of the Lawfare blog, over a screenshot of the Feinstein/Graham embrace. “I care that Feinstein catastrophically mismanaged the hearings, was outwitted without realizing it, and did a grave disservice to the public. I don’t care that Feinstein and Graham are friends and it’s never a bad thing to remember that we are more than our partisan identity.”
“Americans–whose lives hang in the balance–deserve leadership that underscores how unprecedented, shameful and wrong this process is,” said NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue. “The Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Dianne Feinstein, failed to make this clear and in fact offered an appearance of credibility to the proceedings that is wildly out of step with the American people. As such, we believe the committee needs new leadership.”
“This nomination is illegitimate and this process is a sham,” claimed Hogue, echoing a liberal talking point which has proven impotent against the GOP White House and Senate’s intention to quickly approve and seat Barrett on the U.S. Supreme Court. “Tens of millions of Americans have already voted and majorities have said unequivocally that they want to choose the next President who should fill this seat,” said Hogue. “Amy Barrett and this power grab pose a grave threat to every freedom and right we hold dear and tears the very fabric of our democracy.”
“It’s time for Sen. Feinstein to step down from her leadership position on the Senate Judiciary Committee,” said Brian Fallon, the executive director of Demand Justice, in a statement released on Twitter on Thursday. “If she won’t, her colleagues need to intervene.”
“She has undercut Democrat’s position at every step of this process, from undermining calls for filibuster and court reform straight through to thanking Republicans for the most egregious partisan power grab in the modern history of the Supreme Court,” said Fallon in his blistering denunciation of Feinstein’s role on the Judiciary Committee.
“If Senate Democrats are going to get their act together on the courts going forward, they cannot be led by someone who treats Sunrise activists with contempt and the Republican theft of the Supreme Court seat with kid gloves,” said Fallon.
Rock legend Stevie Nicks: Without my abortion, there would’ve been no Fleetwood Mac
Lifesitenews ^ | 10/17/2020 | Doug Mainwaring
A two-time inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has asserted that the world would have been deprived of the happiness and healing her singing career produced if she had not had an abortion four decades ago.
Legendary singer Stevie Nicks said in a recent interview with The Guardian that if she hadn’t aborted the child she conceived with Eagles singer Don Henley in 1979, she’s “pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac.”
“There’s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly,” said Nicks. “And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs … I would have had to walk away,” said the now-72-year-old singer. “And I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many people’s hearts and make people so happy.”
“And I thought: you know what? That’s really important,” she claimed. “There’s not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers. That was my world’s mission.”
“Abortion rights, that was really my generation’s fight,” said Nicks, who declared that recently deceased Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg was her hero. “If President Trump wins this election and puts the judge he wants in, she will absolutely outlaw it and push women back into back-alley abortions.”
‘Kill my baby,’ she told the nurses…until she heard her baby cry
lifesitenews ^ | 10/16/2020 | Stephanie Gray Connors
I once met a labor and delivery nurse who told me about a particularly traumatic abortion-related story.
A patient presented at the hospital the nurse worked at. The patient was in labor at 25 weeks pregnancy (pregnancy typically goes to 40 weeks). Earlier that day, she had gone to a late-term abortion clinic where she had Step 1 of a multi-step procedure to induce the death of her pre-born child. Potassium chloride (KCL) had been inserted into the heart of the baby to bring about a heart attack in the child. Then, in the following days, the doctors were going to go in and pull that baby’s body parts out piece by piece.
Since labor had begun unexpectedly, the woman went to a hospital, but it was a hospital that does not do abortions. When the woman told the medical personnel what she had gone through earlier in the day, she said to them, “I came in for an abortion. I want an abortion. I don’t want this baby. I want the abortion now.”
The doctors and nurses gathered. They listened for a heartbeat and, unexpectedly, the KCL had not stopped the baby’s heart. They discussed the situation and determined that they had a responsibility to resuscitate the baby if the child came out alive.
The woman said, “I don’t want that. I want an abortion. Kill my baby!”
The medical team said no; if the baby came out with a heartbeat, they would attempt resuscitation. The woman continued with her labor. And when the baby was born, the infant cried. Upon hearing the cries of her child, the mother screamed, “Save my baby!”
Feeling the child kick had not softened her hard heart. Hearing the heartbeat had not softened her hard heart. But hearing the cries of her own flesh and blood had drawn out from within her the instinctive and maternal response to alleviate the suffering of the vulnerable in her midst.
Unfortunately the choice the woman had made earlier in the day had a permanent consequence: Resuscitation did not work, and the baby passed away.
There’s an important lesson here, and that is the power of a cry. For pre-born children, however, their screams are silent. We cannot hear, at an audible level, their plea for our aid. But we who know they exist, we who know their very lives are in jeopardy by legalized abortion, have a responsibility to raise our voices in their place, to make an appeal to the consciences of others to help — not harm — them.
South Florida ‘ISIS’ Imam: ‘Jews Behind All Corruption in the Earth’
Frontpagemagazine ^ | Oct 19, 2020 | Joe Kaufman
Fadi Kablawi (Qablawi), head imam of the North Miami Islamic Center (NMIC) and FBI ‘person of interest,’ is a radical Muslim’s radical. His targets comprise of Jews, Christians, homosexuals, women, Hindus and Muslims, even his fellow radical Muslims. This past July, he made the claim that Jews are behind all the corruption on Earth. He did so, during one of his Friday khutbas (sermons), in front of his congregation, which includes young and impressionable children. At times, he draws large crowds. Will Kablawi’s dangerous rhetoric drive one or more of his followers to commit acts of violence? Has it already?
Fadi Yousef Kablawi, a.k.a. Abu Ubeidah, was born in Amman, Jordan, in 1978. At the age of 17, he moved to the US with his family. After finishing high school, Kablawi attended Florida International University (FIU) for his undergraduate studies and completed his doctoral degree in dental medicine, at the University of Pennsylvania, in 2005. Working alongside his wife, he had a thriving Miami dentistry, until August 2017, when he was arrested for allegedly using his business to overcharge his patients and commit Medicaid fraud. A video news report depicts a somber Kablawi handcuffed and sporting an orange jumpsuit, standing in front of Bond Court judge, Mindy Glazer, who happens to be Jewish.
Incorporated in September 2010, the North Miami Islamic Center (NMIC), a.k.a. Masjid As Sunnah An Nabawiyyah, is the brainchild of Kablawi. In fact, the mosque’s colorful logo bears the name of Kablawi’s former corporation, al-Tayyib, which is as well the mosque’s website address, altayyib.com. A children’s school, Reviver Academy, shares the identical North Miami location of the mosque. According to Kablawi, he created the school in order to provide a pure and unfiltered form of Islam for the kids. Photos and video footage from the school show the children using the same area of the mosque where Kablawi emits his hate speech.
Kablawi is an equal opportunity offender, attacking all faiths, including his own, though Jews are by far his primary target. Last month, he told his congregants, “[A Muslim] doesn’t associate his behavior with an iman (faith). The Jews are different. They will use the iman, which is ‘We’re Jews,’ to justify every heinous thing they do.” Also last month, he stated, “You will find the most enemies to the believers are the Jews.” This past July, Kablawi told his congregation the following about Jews: “Look at the façade and the corruption in the Earth, today. You’ll find them behind it, in everything.”
Kablawi is not happy that some of his fellow Muslims are making peace with Israel. On September 15th, at the White House, historic peace agreements were signed between Israel, Bahrain and the UAE. On October 2nd, Kablawi told his audience, “Anything you sign as peace is nothing but selling out, is nothing but cowardice, is nothing but humiliation, is nothing but debasement.” On September 20th, he stated, “If anybody who brings this issue up… tell them brotherhood is stronger than cousinhood. When they abuse and kill our brothers… the Muslims in Palestine are brothers not cousins, and when my cousin kills my brother I will kill my cousin.”
Kablawi is also not friendly towards Muslims who side with Hindus wishing to resettle in the Indian state of Kashmir, following years of terror and dispossession at the hands of Islamists. In August 2019, he tweeted his own mini fatwa(religious ruling), stating, “Whoever allies himself, celebrates and honors the Hindus for what they have done to Muslims in Kashmir is an apostate, out of the fold of the religion of Muhammad…”
Kablawi likes vilifying Christians, too. Last month, he told his congregants, “[T]he Christians don’t think. They just follow whatever.” He said that Christians have a “hallucinating imagination.” He called Christianity “fake.” In January 2019, hetold his congregation, “The Christian religion makes no sense… If you look at all the religions in the world, Christianity can compete for first place in stupidity.” This past July he stated, “Someone might ask, ‘Why are there a lot of Christians?’ There are lots of Christians, because their fitra (state of purity/innocence) got corrupted.”
Kablawi also hates gays with a passion. Last month, he railed against gay rights. He stated to his audience, “20 years or 30 years ago, talking to someone about the rights of homosexuals – crazy! God knows what there will be tomorrow… Maybe the straight ones will be the gay ones. We will be looked at as abnormal.” He referred to gays as “Sodomites.” In March 2019, Kablawi bizarrely attacked gays and Christians together, tweeting, “After long research, I think I finally discovered the virus responsible for LGBTQ disease… It is called the Church virus; most dangerous mutation of such virus is the Catholic one.” Kablawi has even attacked Islamist favorite Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and a leader from CAIR for cavorting with LGBT.
And when it comes to jihad, for Kablawi, there is only one primary meaning, and that is holy war. In July, he said, “[J]ihad is when you put your life on the line. Not the cute jihad, as they call everything ‘jihad’ today. A brother sent me a message, ‘This is the Real Jihad’… about coronavirus. This kid somewhere in Falastin. They stopped him from seeing his mother, at the hospital, who was infected with the virus. He would climb, every night, the walls of the hospital and sit next to the room of his mother… May Allah reward him for being righteous and dutiful to his mother. But that’s not the real jihad. Real jihad is not climbing walls. Real jihad is climbing over people’s necks and heads and skulls.”
This past July, hundreds of mosque goers packed Kablawi’s NMIC, as Kablawi stood in front leading prayers. No doubt, his type of no frills Islamic fundamentalism has attracted a significant segment of the Muslim community. One must therefore question how much of Kablawi’s extreme and bigoted rhetoric has his congregants taken to heart, and are they willing to act on it, meaning violently? One of his followers, Salman Rashid, this past December, was charged with soliciting ISIS to murder the deans of two South Florida colleges. And according to Kablawi, he himself is considered by the FBI to be a member of ISIS.
Fadi Kablawi is a danger and threat to society. The message that he sends to his congregation and all who watch and share his videos is one of hatred and violence. Kablawi believes that he is teaching the Islamic religion in the proper manner – one that is unfiltered and unapologetic – and that may very well be so. However, what Kablawi is doing, as well, is inspiring his followers and congregants, including very young and impressionable children, to retain this hatred and to potentially carry out the same type of jihad that Kablawi lauds and embraces.
