(from a reader)
The Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, has taken it upon himself to take over private industries such as taverns and restaurants in order for what he thinks is a public safety matter, all the while with no declaration of martial law. He and the state of Illinois should be sued in a class-action suit for total and immediate compensation for all money’s lost to these industries and workers who unlike him are not billionaires.
In our present form of government in the United States, we have certain Inalienable Rights, and personal guarantees, and one of them is risk. If a private owner of a business wants to take an ordinary risk to stay open and outside people want to take an ordinary risk to visit such establishment, this is called freedom of choice no matter what anyone else thinks.
Liberty means that a person can run around doing stranger things and has such right as long as they do not compel anyone else to do what they are doing, no crime, and these tavern and restaurant owners have not committed any crime because of an unforeseen occurrence like an airborne virus, nor would they be committing a crime by doing what they do best in running their business. Let the business owners and people use their God-given common sense.
Certainly, in my opinion, a person such as this Governor who does not think it is murder to allow newborn live birth babies to die on the delivery table is not of a sound mental capacity to make this decision nor run someone else’s business without direct responsibility of the business’s detriment.
This is the same man who pulled out toilet bowls in his house to save property taxes? If he believes it is a woman’s right to kill her baby, how ironic that he now says this same woman does not have the right to out to eat in a restaurant because of an unseen threat. Spare me the hypocrisy.
