It is very possible. There is evidence that we have ignored and overlooked because we were taught the Earth is a spinning ball from before we could even reason. If we were not taught that, religiously since a very young age I believe someone would have an extremely hard time convincing us the Earth is a spinning ball. The evidence for a spinning ball is very lacking considering the level of belief, very similar to religious belief, that people have. If we wipe the slate clean and start fresh and go through each piece of evidence one by one, a different story behind to emerge. We find something that is very compelling but we dismiss it because after all, what level of conspiracy would there have to be to promote such a huge lie. I came back to this thought countless times, every time I was presented with a fact that didn’t align with the current model…”but we have countless pictures, videos, and every smart person believes this. So I would dismiss it and call the person and his idea crazy. One day, I was reading a comment made by a “flat earther” that made sense to the point it pissed me off that people still believed that archaic idea. So, since I could only regurgitate what I was taught, I decided to prove this person wrong once and for all in 2 minutes. So I googled pictures of the Earth. Then after scrolling though pages and pages of artist renditions, composites, and CGI, being a little frustrated I changed my search to real pictures of the Earth. Those results didn’t provide much more. This really frustrated me so I googled proof the Earth was a globe. I found many sites but most said the same things. I did a search today to see how it’s changed…7 ways to prove the earth is round
This article is similar to the one I read I’ve a treat and a half ago. To summarise:
- Watch a ship sail off to sea
This has been number one since a year and a half ago but I remember this being huge when I was a kid too. So, since I would have to spend hours waiting for a ship to sail out to see I googled it again. I saw video after video where a ship, or boat, sailed away. The boat disappeared just as predicted but someone did something I hadn’t heard of, they zoomed in. Profound right, I was surprised to see the boat came back from over the curve. They waited while it sailed over the curve again, then zoomed in again and sure enough it came back. He did this at least four times and after getting to the max if the camera he zoomed all the way back and it looked like a crazy distance.
At this point this argument, to me needed more investigation. I didn’t think it proved anything but it got me thinking. I looked up arguments to this and I saw a bunch of explanation after explanation but none of them followed any evidence, they all were just explanations and came down to, since we know the Earth is a spinning ball, there must be an explanation for this phenomenon. The thing is, it turns out that it’s not a phenomenon, one can zoom in without fancy cameras after the first journey over the curve. You may not be able to do it as many times as a person using a P-900 or better but it still raises doubt and had to be filed under evidence the current narrative was wrong.
This did not convince me that the Earth was (after much laughter) flat. What a stupid idea, the Earth flat. Pictures of ships falling over the edge of a flat square Earth that was being held up by a turtle flooded my mind giving me resolve to prove the Earth was a globe.
I then looked up the curvature calculation because I remember learning that we KNOW the circumference of the Earth. It is 8 inches for every mile squared. So after 1 mile the Earth curves 8 inches, 2 miles = 32 inches, 3 miles = 72 inches. So in 3 miles, 6 feet will be missing from the object, cool this should be easy (so I thought.) I drive every day past large bodies of water so I began to really look out wondering how far away things were that I could see. As far as I could see, everything was completely flat. Calm water didn’t appear to have any curving to it but this is to be expected since we can’t start seeing curve until a couple miles away and even then it could be difficult to be for sure. One day I could see a water tower in the distance over a large body of water. I thought, cool that looks a couple miles out so I will use my zoom and try to see if there is any part missing. There wasn’t so I was disappointed because I couldn’t see a curve. After looking into this I learned that I had to subtract the distance from the ground to my eye because that distance higher allows me to see further over the curve. So I calculated that if the tower was 2 miles away, I could still see the whole thing. Cool, so then I found which water tower it was by Google maps and it was over 8 miles away. That would be 42.6666 feet of curve. My heart sank, since I was about 15 feet above the ground, and I’m 6′ there should be at least 20 feet missing from the tower so I even added 10 more feet just in case but I could see the bottom of the tower. I again filed this away as inconclusive because i loved NASA and my boss was a former astronaut.
Wow that was the first one. I can do more (the rest) if anyone would like but it would be a miracle to have anyone get through that first one! I haven’t even looked at the rest of the list but I am pretty confident at this point that the pattern well hold true:
Find EVIDENCE – then we get explanations as to why what we see is not really happening based on other experiments that were considered conducted 200 years ago. For example,
Explanation – it’s a mirage…
That’s the official ex
Have fun…
