After reading his book in 1992, your editor interviewed Dr. Crenshaw from his Dallas home. In addition to all of the info reported here, he repeated the outrageous treatment of the Dallas Medical Examiner and how the Secret Service agents actually stole the body with guns drawn on Dr. Earl Rose after Rose had told then that by Texas law the body would have to be autopsied before leaving the state.
Intrigued, we asked how we could reach Dr. Rose and learned that he was retired in Iowa City, Iowa after teaching at the university. This, of course, was nearly thirty years after the assassination, but when we reached Dr. Rose on the telephone he was still too terrified to even discuss it. It was obvious that what today we know as the “Deep State” had issued its threats. Our conversation lasted less than a minute.
