Absurd Excuses in American Political Scandals

We can’t wait to hear the latest lies from Lois Lerner and the IRS. Recent reports from the inside of DC have it that seven (7) separate hard drives from IRS office computers that had communicated with Lerner have disappeared. The official story is that “the emails have been lost,” but in fact, the hard drives have been removed and obviously destroyed forever.

 

ae1Former Rhode Island Rep. Patrick Kennedy claimed he was “disoriented” by the medication Ambien when he rammed a Capitol Hill checkpoint with his Ford Mustang in 2006. His father, the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, told police in 1969 that he was “was unfamiliar with the road” that led to the notorious Chappaquiddick crash, claiming the life of Mary Jo Kopechne.

For six days in June 2009, whereabouts were unknown and there was media coverage of what was described as his disappearance. Subsequently the Governor reappeared and reported that he had been in Buenos Aires, Argentina with a woman with whom he was having an extramarital affair. During the six days of absence, one of the excuses offered by Sanford’s spokesperson was that Sanford was hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Idaho Sen. Larry E. Craig said Monday he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge associated with soliciting sex because he wanted to quickly end the erroneous charge. Craig initially claimed his “wide stance” in a bathroom stall led to his arrest.
