Elderly Woman Body-Slammed & Thrown in Pool After Noise Complaint [VIDEO]

A large group of people were throwing a party at an apartment complex pool in North Lauderdale, Florida when an elderly woman with two dogs approached them and told them to turn their loud music down.

As she was talking, people surrounded her. One guy in a red shirt picked her up and either fell with her on the wet pavement or intentionally body-slammed her on the pool deck. He then got up, picked up the woman, and threw her into the pool, jumping in with her.

During the ordeal, people were screaming, laughing, and running away from the scene.

Can you guess why this hasn’t been all over the news? It’s not just that it was a ‘local’ story. Local stories like this can garner national attention in a short amount of time, as long as the events and characters fit in with a particular narrative.

Consider, for instance, what the response would have been from the national media had an elderly black woman approached a large group of white people at an apartment pool party and told them to turn down the music, only to be picked up, body-slammed, and thrown into the pool. Obviously, the response would be total, immediate, and never-ending outrage. From KSAT:

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident and looking to speak with witnesses.

The woman in the video declined to speak, but residents at the apartment complex spoke to Local 10 and were shocked at what occurred in their community.

“First of all, I can’t even believe that somebody would be allowed to act like that,” said Tracy Ann Simmonds. “These young people are a little bit out of control.”

It’s not known what injuries, if any, the woman suffered.

“She’s an elder, you need to show respect for your elders that’s crazy, that’s a horrible, horrible thing that happened to her,” said Simmonds.
